How Kick Ass BBQ South was born. Back in 2009, brother Ed came down from Kick Ass BBQ Minnesota and taught a BBQ 101 class here in Elizabethtown, KY. Rance and Ernie had been smoking meat for several years and after the class was over, we decided that we could teach this ourselves. Ed up North and us down South. And so it began. We cater to the backyard BBQ cookers who want to cook real BBQ for their friends and family. We have had students from as far away as New York, Canada and from all of the surrounding states - TN, IN, ILL, AL, MS, LA, GA, WI. We have had 'likes' on our face book page from all over the U.S., Ireland and Australia. Ed likes Jack Daniels and used it in his recipes. As Rance and I reside in the heart of Bourbon country and like Bourbon, we use Makers Mark in our recipes. Rance and Ernie have attended a Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) Judging Class and are now Certified KCBS Judges.
